I like the way the protagonist has to deal with the mundane world, the demon world, and the world of crime, but I wanted a little more introduction, to establish the characters.

Typical anime detective show with a creepy twist. Unusual that the producers start a few stories into series from the manga then right at the end of the first episode, jump back to the start of the manga where they first met. Later on more powerful antagonists appear which actually give Neuro a run for his meal and even try to kill him. Still a good series if you can stomach murder mysteries.

The series is about a demon, Neuro Nōgami, who feeds on mysteries, and has come to the human world after eating all the mysteries in his. But as a demon, he cannot act overtly. The first thing he does is force a high school girl to become a detective, while Neuro acts as her assistant. While it appeared to be a mystery series early on, the author has described it as "a straight forward entertainment book wearing the skin of a mystery."
