Not as exciting as I might wish, but the cleanup stuff was kind of funny, and transformation tropes are some of my favourites, so I'd definitely watch a couple more episodes.

It is refreshing to see an anime that seems to put as much effort in the animation of the monsters as in machinery/vehicles, a bit reminiscent on Anno's work with mechanical things.
The societal mechanics hinted at in the background of the character arcs related to living with huge kaiju monsters in modern day Japan are neat to think about, could be a very well developed theme throughout the season, if the development of personal relations doesn't take center stage (which it might, and that is not a bad thing necessarily!)
Overall I recommend it! Especially if you also enjoy kaiju fight scenes!
(I happened to have watched the dub as well, I have to say I did not find any problems with it, but it is not anything remarkable)

Michael Eh?

With the same vibe as FLCL, this show rocks with a great sound track. You really identify with this loser of a guy. The internal going-on with this unlikely love-hate triangle. The angst and the glory. The interactions between characters is believable. The acting is spot on. This is how a opening episode should be. A MUST watch this season.

This was fun. Good action sequences, some humor in the slower parts, decent character development, and I liked the animation. I will definitely be keeping an eye on this one.

Doug

Not as exciting as I might wish, but the cleanup stuff was kind of funny, and transformation tropes are some of my favourites, so I'd definitely watch a couple more episodes.
