Yuusha-kei ni Shosu
Heroism is a punishment for only the worst criminals. Those sentenced to the fate of a hero are forced to fight at the front lines against the demon king’s army and if they die, all they can expect is to be revived and continue the battle. But when their leader, convicted of killing a goddess, meets another goddess himself, the contract they forge may be enough to change the world.
L'héroïsme est un châtiment réservé aux pires criminels. Ceux qui sont condamnés à ce destin sont forcés de combattre en première ligne contre l'armée du roi démon et, s'ils meurent, leur seul espoir est d'être ressuscités et de reprendre le combat. Standard Humans vs the unending tide of darkness fantasy, but with a twist of people being sentenced to immortality, to continue the fight forever; resurrected after every death. Gods and goddesses are technomagical weapons equivalent to WMDs.

Hero duty as a punishment. Essentially, being forced to fight other people's wars instead of jail.
Add in the "reluctant hero" MC, and It is fairly cliche. Especially since they also use the "everyone-hates-him-just-because-of-his-role" trope as well.
I do like the "cowardly-sniveling-sidekick" trope thrown in with it.
It's worth further watching to see where they go with it.

Military dark fantasy with a pint-size goddess, lots of explosions, a kickass premise, and lots of potential for killer plot twists -- should be pretty good.
