Since losing her family in an accident, Hinako has had a vague wish to die, though she feels that she cannot go through with it herself. One day, she meets a mermaid named Shiori who tells Hinako that her flesh and blood are especially delicious to yōkai. Wanting to eat Hinako herself, Shiori promises to protect her from other yōkai until she is at her most delicious, at which point Shiori will eat her. Due to her feelings regarding the accident, Hinako accepts this fate
Depuis la perte de sa famille dans un accident, Hinako nourrit un vague désir de mourir, bien qu'elle se sente incapable de le faire elle-même. Un jour, elle rencontre une sirène nommée Shiori qui lui confie que sa chair et son sang sont particulièrement délicieux pour les yōkai. Voulant dévorer Hinako elle-même, Shiori promet de la protéger des autres yōkai jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit à son apogée, après quoi Shiori la dévorera. Soucieuse de son sentiment suite à l'accident, Hinako accepte ce sort.
