Mostly a summer crop which can be found in Asian food markets even in the fall.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.animelondon.ca\/bento\/images\/longam-01.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Longam on stems\" alt=\"Longam on stems\" src=\"http:\/\/www.animelondon.ca\/bento\/thumbs\/longam-01.gif\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>It&#8217;s a real treat to eat this fruit. I&#8217;ve eaten pounds of it and not grown tired of it. It&#8217;s sort of a grape with a single pit or seed with a husk-like outer skin. It has a wine (grape) taste to it.<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.animelondon.ca\/bento\/images\/longam-03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"130\" height=\"100\" src=\"http:\/\/www.animelondon.ca\/bento\/thumbs\/longam-02.gif\" \/><\/a> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.animelondon.ca\/bento\/images\/longam-03.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"130\" height=\"100\" title=\"pop\" alt=\"pop\" src=\"http:\/\/www.animelondon.ca\/bento\/thumbs\/longam-03.gif\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p align=\"left\">Longam can be easily peeled by just squeezing to pop open the husk.<\/p>\n<p>The husk and pit are not eaten.
