In an ideal world where man and robots coexist, someone or something has destroyed the powerful Swiss robot Mont Blanc. Elsewhere a key figure in a robot rights group is murdered. The two incidents appear to be unrelated except for one very conspicuous clue - the bodies of both victims have been fashioned into some sort of bizarre collage complete with makeshift horns placed by the victims' heads. Interpol assigns robot detective Gesicht to this most strange and complex case - and he eventually discovers that he too, as one of the seven great robots of the world, is one of the targets.

This was a very interesting watch. The age old question of what counts as a soul, but once again asked within a sci fi context, once again involving murder. Yes, it evokes strong images of the likes of blade runner, robocop, ghost in the shell, but still manages to have some identity of its own. The later part took a strange left turn, becoming some form of character study of a cantankerous old coot. I'm not really sure what to make of this one. There was an interesting premise here, but it seems to have been muddled somewhere along the way.

Mr.G

Interesting sci-fi story on human-robot relations, by the late, great, Osamu tezuka. Art has a more modern style, but you can still see his influence in the helmets, noses, and robot designs. A murder-mystery of humans and robots, on both sides. First ep has some vignettes with classic Tezuka moral tales.

Doug

Pretty good worldbuilding for a serious near-future story arc, but the middle segment should have been presented as an independent short film. Jump to navigationJump to search

The plot thickens. Pluto is complicated thriller to piece together in one episode. Given the feel of this story to mirror the manga. It's one of the shows worth watching this season.
