Moeta Kaoruko est une étudiante de 15 ans et créatrice de mangas, qui utilise le nom de plume Chaos. Après s'être classée au bas d'une enquête auprès des lecteurs, l'éditrice de Kaoruko recommande qu'elle entre dans un dortoir exclusivement féminin pour les créateurs de mangas. Les colocataires de Kaoruko sont Koizuka Koyume, créatrice de shoujo manga, Irokawa Ruki, créatrice de mangas, et Katsuki Tsubasa, créatrice de shounen manga. Les filles se soutiennent mutuellement alors qu'elles travaillent pour devenir de meilleurs créateurs de mangas.
