Black Rock Shooter OVA

What I thought would be an awesome OVA turned into a poorly plotted 50 minutes of drama which fails to connect the dots. Sadly the music video that was put out by the creator was more enjoyable and made more sense. Don’t take my word for it, see what our members thought of Black Rock Shooter OVA.

Ashlynn at March Toronto Anime Con 2010

With great sorrow, a friend posted this on Facebook.

To all cosplayers in the Ontario/Alberta community, today (August 8 ) we have lost a wonderful friend and cosplayer. Ashlynn Handy passed away earlier today, but she lives on in all of us.

The loss of one affects us all. I wished I could have made the meet up in Ashlynn’s honor in Toronto but wasn’t able. To Ashlynn’s family and friends, no sympathy can truly be deep enough to express our sorrow. I hope that each of you will work out the loss of Ashlyn in your own time and own way.

From all of us in London, our thoughts go out to you.

UPDATE: Since this post, Ashlynn’s friends are organizing to wear black armbands at upcoming Fan Expo as well as other meetups. Since SO many are looking for answers or simply trying to find out what is being done, Please go to the Facebook event page in her honor.

Adapted from the manga, Apocalypse Meow, this story takes place years after Vietnam with the same characters from the manga.  Impressive computer animation but hardly could be called a series with only one episode. Read what our member thought of Cat Shit One.

Mitsudomoe reviewed

What could be any teacher’s worst nightmare, triple trouble with three sisters in one comedy.  Each with their own personalities and their own way of causing mayhem in this twisted anime.  Read what our trio of reviewers thought of Mitsudomoe.

ADV manga is long since gone. Recently CMX and GoComi have closed doors and even websites. With that, the blame game has emerged. Scanlations are to blame they say.

F.. blame the economy. With so little jobs and jobs that anime fans use to take being taken by other people. There is simply no money for manga. Still the industry is in denial.

The can’t or won’t accept their dip in sales is anything that is out of their control or ‘in their control’ and their fault. We were buying like crazy but now we’re all thieves. CLUE IN … we’re broke.

To this end, OneManga has shut it’s doors. Being the gentlemen they are and not the scapegoats, they decided to give in the the blame game. It’s a shame that the industry couldn’t afford a vowel.

H.O.T.D reviewed

Romero would be proud of this show … well maybe not of the fan service.  High School of the Dead, the manga hits the screen and it doesn’t disappoint or try to explain too much in the first episode. You’re only given glimpses of the other players in this drama without having to setup their life story to this point.  It centers on 3 main characters… and their backgrounds are only briefly touch on before all hell breaks loose.

Still if you’re a zombie fan, this is a MUST watch show, Highschool of the Dead.
