After quite a while of trying to track down the judge at AnimeNorth, Steve looked through the pack of submissions.  Out of all the submissions, the winners show a common attribute, detail and backgrounds.  While most did characters on the fox theme, most forgot that characters simply don't float in space of white.

Also the judge chose three winners in order of preference leaving myself to equally adjust the awards.

Adam Crawford was chosen best over all. It must be noted that Adam is currently studying animation near Ottawa. Adam got the scanner.

Derek T. Hallowday's entry gave the judge a chuckle of his literal interpretation of 'fox spirit' and taking an original response. It was decided to award Derek the Kitsune charm.

Kirsten Kryn's entry was third choice on Technical merit.

For the most part, a friend's prediction was true that most artists would simply draw 'fox girls'. No one caught onto the idea of placing a character 'out of character' as the legend implies.

As for next year, I'm taking a break from challenges.  With changes brought on by lost of Regal Constellation, I feel adding another distraction might not help. Hopefully AnimeNorth may take up offering a challenge next.
