Betrayal
uragiri
Proberly the greatest story of betrayal has to be Jesus being betrayed by Judas.  With the recent publication of the so-called Gospel according to Judas it lead to an interesting strip.

Evan Munday started off this strip with a potential follower jumping ship. Even in the gospels, it was noted that several people gave excuses for not following.

Andy B with his car booth at Paradise Comicon quickly set Christ as rejected with some foreshadowing of the betrayal to come.  Maybe it seems odd to show rejected for Son of God but then who doesn't?

Then I went to Cosplay Contest.... there ws no time afterward to finished this strip as the show closed for the day.

Come AnimeNorth which also has a large artist alley.  Not only artists who draw doujinshi (fan comics) based on anime characters but also some comic artist who styles blend with scene.

One of those is Jason Loo who started Rebel for last year's 4koma at Anime North.  He managed to turn around things quite literally.

Done with the other 4 komas, I went back into the dealer's room for show some of the artists there the results.  To my surprise, Kean Soo (who did firt panel of Crisis last year's Paradise Comicon) agreed to draw the final panel but left the writing to Ryan North who came up with the ending.

Even the artists in this 4 koma thought this strip sacreligious. Simply Jesus knew he was going to be betrayed.  Still he carried on until the end.

However, I found it refreshing 4 koma that I think that even religious types will like as this 4 koma. It's interesting that it's not as bad as it could have turned out to be.

Note: One minor point. Jesus had two disciples named Judas since it was a common name at the time. No doubt the so-called found gospel of Judas was the second.
