| Usually with the 4 Koma Project, I go around the arists
alley, looking at people's art before choosing who I will offer to start
or add a panel.
For some reason while talking to Rich Dannys about starting a 4 koma,
Ian Orenstein asking to participate. I was kind of hestitant to take on
this 'unexpected' offer from someone not of the artist alley but I relented.
He chose Pure Love and found a place to work.
I thought who could possibly continue this 4 koma .... as I passed Sean
Ward's table. It hit me that this style was right up his alley. Surprisingly,
he did it entirely in pen with the benifit of laying out in pencil
first.
As I was talking to a friend at Black Superhero Black Bastard booth,
I offered Corduroy High's artist,
Tyrone McCarthy a shot at the third panel who picked up on Sean's work.
Drazen Kuzjan finished by turning
Pure Love from an ideal dream to a surreal nightmare.
While the art work wasn't exactly like other 4 komas, the first panel
usually sets the tone and style throughout the entire 4 koma. In
the end, through the other artists, the strip worked out to make the whole
as great as it parts. |
