4 koma is Japanese style of comic strip with some minor differences. One is rigid 4 koma (panel) format. Also so the panels are arranged from top to bottom as oppose to western left to right.

The real difference is the Project is a variation of 'Equisite Corpse'  from the French 'Corps Exquis.' Originally, it was a writer's challenge where each writer wrote a single paragraph but the next writer was only allowed to read the last line of it and continue,.Once it was finished was the entire piece was read aloud.  An artist variation was page was folded into threes and the next artist could only see the last few lines which entended pass the fold.

Enter the 4 Koma Project which the first artist picks a word from a list of random words taken from japanese.about.com's 50 Kanji for Tattos then draws the first panel. The second artist draws the next panel. The third artist continues and the forth finishes the strip.

Each artist gets credit and link to their site with each panel. Intended as a challenge, the results can be stunning.
