Being the first 4 koma started, it was also the first 4
koma finished which allowed for another 4koma to be done as well. Figuring
'Romance' was going to be the normal one of the lot, I was totally wrong
as each artist took this love crazed theme to a new level. Wheither up
or down is up to you. :)
Chip Zdarsky, of Prison Funnies,
opening panel looked innocent enough. His inking style with brushes no
less was wonderful given time contraints of other commissions. Still it
proved in the end ... beauty only runs skin deep.
Jason Loo with the 60's retro styling of Popper
Cosmix looked like suitable canidate for the second panel I got more
of an eye-opening change to this strange romance.
Infinite Kungfu arist, Kagan
McLeod, participated in last year's 4 koma at CNAnime. His work on 'Justice'
was inspiring. This time on third panel he nicely progressed the 4 koma.
Evan Munday added the coup de grace to this 4 koma. I picked up a few of his books Amazing Challenngers of Unknown Mystery as well as this con-mission. A fitting ending to what looks like a beautiful romance... no matter how strange. |
