George Broderick
Jr. once did a commission a couple of years back of Jeanie and El Mucho
Grande together for a friend's comic book shop for me. As I was passing
by, he asked about how my friend liked the commision. "Very much," I said,
"Interested in a challenge?"
"Sure," agreed George. Out the list, 'Ocean' caught his eye and proceeded to work on the first panel. Trying to keep pro work amoung pros. I found Lethargic Lad's Greg Hyland willing to continue George's Ant Boy beach quest. In spite his being dissapointed in his panel, Greg continued the premise of the 4 koma by adding conflict. Later, Greg did some clean up work but still I found the panel perfect. Next with not many other pros biting at the chance to continue Ant Boy's
trek, an old Anime London art challenger, Sarah
Griffen rose to the challenge and manage to pickup on the conflict
introduced by Greg while keeping close to George's artstyle.
Last, Tony Esteves, chose to finised the strip because the artstyle matched his style. Tony also does a strip with a goose and rabbit in Cigarro. All in all, the finished results pleased George Broderick Jr. immensely. |
